                                               Biometric is a technology to authenticate the identity of a person by verifying personal character. Biometric devices analyze some biometric identifier and than grant access to a program system or room. A biometric identifier is physiological or behavioral characteristic of a person. voice patterns are some example of biometric identifiers. 

                               A biometric device converts a personal characteristic in digital code. This digital code is compared with digital code stored in the computer. 

                                A fingerprint reader is the most widely used biometric device. it scans the cures and indentations of  a fingerprint. it can be easily used by home and small business user to authenticate users. Some lasted keyboard and notebook computer also  have fingerprint reader for longing on the computer using fingerprint without entering user name and password.

A voice verification system compares the voice of a person with the stored voice. some large companies use this system as time and attendance devices. it is also used for measures the pressure and motion used to wire the signature. 

This system is very expensive used by government security organizations military and large financial organizations.

Sensors input Devices

                                        Sensors is an input device that input data directly form the environment stored it in the computer. it is usually used to detect movement weight pressure temperature humidity wind and images etc. 

Output 

                The data has been password into useful information is called output. the output can be in two forms:

Soft copy 

                      The output shown on display screen is called soft copy  soft copy is not tangible. 

Hard Copy 

                        The output printed on the paper is called hard copy. the common device to produce hard copy output are printed and plotters.
