Advantages of ICT In Education

 Some advantages of ICT In education are as follows:


1. Increase Network Opportunities:

                                                                      ICT can be connect educational institutes. It is very important for the student in rural areas and the student in developing countries.


2.Distance Learning: 

                                                   The learning has become web based with the help of ICT. It has resulted in the distance learning and online education o replace correspondence institutes.


3.Supplement Traditional Learning:

                                                                           ICT has also helped the students in traditional learning. The student use software programs such as Microsoft word to prepare assignment etc.


4. Increased Access to Resources:

                                                                           ICT allows the student to access educational resources from anywhere at any time. The increased access to the resources is very useful for the students. It is also valuable for the students with special needs and the students in rural areas or in developing countries. 


5. Interactive learning Experience:

                                                                     Many teacher deliver information to their students un the form of lectures. ICT allows students to access information through videos, podcasts and other interactive media. It creates a more effective earning experience for the students.


6. Students centered Learning:

                                                                            The students in a traditional classroom cannot control lesson planning. However, ICT allows the students to take control of their learning experience. The students can use ICT resources to learn according to his own requirement.


2 Disadvantages of ICT

                           Some disadvantages ICT in education are as follow;

1. High Costs:

                                        The implementation of ICT can be very costly. it may require the updating of existing infrastructure/ teachers training and developing quality course material. The funding for such projects is often not available easily in developing countries.


2.Teacher Training:

                                             Many teachers are unfamiliar with the use of ICT in the classroom. They resist to implement such technology in their established pedagogies. The successful implementation and use of ICT in education needs to be supported by well-trained teachers.

 

3. Uncertain Success Rates:

                                                                  There is no large-scale study that the use of ICT will result in a measurable increases in student achievement. it become difficult for school administrators to invest in these technologies. Additional  research is needed to better understand the relation between the use of ICT in education and improved student learning.
