DIFFERENT BETWEEN DATA AND INFORMATION:

           Different between data and information:

                                                                  The different between data and information is as follows:

                                                  

                                     Data:

  1. Data is the collection of raw facts and figures. 

 2. Data is used as input in the compute

 3. Data is not very meaningful.

4. Data is normally huge in its volume.

5. Data id difficult or even impossible to reproduce. For examples it is very hard to reproduce the data of census if it is lost.

            

                         Information:

1. Information is processed form data.

2. Information is the output of computer.

3. Information is more meaningful.

4. Information is normally short in its volume.

5. Information is easier to reproduce. For examples number of graduate citizens can be recalculated form the stored data.

    

       Information Processing Cycle:

                                                    A series steps used to convert data into useful information is known as information  Processing cycle: The steps in this cycle are performed in a specific sequence.

                   Different steps in the information processing cycle are as follows:

        1. Input:

                     The first step of the information processing cycle is input. The computer accepts data in this step. These devices send this data to the processing unit . Most commonly used input devices are keyboard and mouse.

        2. Processing:

                             The processor is used to process to data. It is also called central processing unit (CPU). It is the brain of the computer. It consists of electronic circuit. All computers must have a central processing unit.

         3. Output:

                        The data processed into useful information is called output. Output devices are used to display the result of processing. The most common output devices are monitor and printer.

          4. Storage:

                          Storage usually refers to the secondary storage. The main memory stores data and programs temporarily. The secondary storage is required to stores data information and programs permanently . The most common storage devices are hard disk , drive , USB , CDs , DVDs  etc.
